Reishi Folklore
Reishi’s history is long and extensive, especially in Chinese medicine. It is often referred to as the Imperial tonic as it was part of the medicines given to the Chinese emperor to prolong life. Other stories tell how it was used significantly by both warrior and ascetic monks. The monks consumed it to deepen their meditation practices. Reishi is also reputed to offer anti-aging (or longevity) properties and so is also often called the Mushroom of Immortality.
